Maria Gabriela Mejia Mendez is a Biomedical Engineer with MSc and BSc degrees from Universidad de los Andes, passionate about healthcare accessibility through technology. As Chief Technology Officer of Selva, she drives the research and development of affordable, accessible diagnostic technologies, leveraging her nanotechnology and biomicrosystem expertise, alongside regulatory insights from her role in the pharmaceutical industry and experience in securing international innovation grants.
Andrea Gomez Jaime is a Biomedical Engineer currently pursuing a Master's in Machine Learning for Healthcare at McGill University. As the founder and CEO of Selva, she is dedicated to developing affordable diagnostic technologies that expand access to women's healthcare in underserved communities. Drawing on her previous experience in the development of point-of-care diagnostic devices, she combines translational research, entrepreneurship, and scalable healthcare innovation to bring accessible diagnostics to the communities that need them most.
